Microwave ablation has now become one of the important methods for the clinical treatment of solid tumor tissues. It applies microwave, a type of high-frequency electromagnetic wave, to human tumor tissues. A microwave ablation needle is used to release microwave energy into the tumor tissue, making polar molecules (mostly water) in the tumor tissue rotate at high speed under the action of the microwave field and quickly generate a large amount of heat. When the temperature rises above 60℃, it causes tissue dehydration, coagulation, and protein denaturation, leading to irreversible necrosis of the tumor tissue and achieving the therapeutic effect.

Based on the therapeutic principle of microwave ablation, a microwave ablation needle needs to be inserted into the human body during the operation. Therefore, the outer diameter of the microwave ablation needle plays a decisive role in the resistance during needle insertion, the damage to normal tissues, and the size of the wound. Thinner ablation needles have a broader application market. For example, microwave ablation surgeries such as those for varicose vein collateral vessels, children's hemangiomas, breast lobular hyperplasia, axillary osmidrosis, and nerve block all require microwave ablation needles with a smaller diameter.
The 1.0mm (19G) microwave ablation needle with cold circulation developed by our company not only significantly reduces the resistance of percutaneous puncture but also causes almost negligible trauma to the patient's normal tissues. It greatly expands the application scope of microwave ablation, improves the accuracy of microwave ablation surgeries, and minimizes damage to the patient's normal tissues. With the continuous advancement of the company's related technologies, the 0.8mm (20G) ablation needle will be launched soon.
