Histopathological examination requires obtaining tumor tissue samples through surgery or biopsy, which is invasive to animals and may pose risks.
The current situation regarding the limited and unsafe treatment options for animal tumors is worrying. Regarding the limited treatment options, current methods mainly rely on traditional approaches such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. Surgical treatment can be high-risk and invasive, especially for elderly, frail animals or those with tumors in unusual locations, where surgery is not always a viable option. While chemotherapy is effective for some tumors, it often causes side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, and weakened immunity, impacting the animal's quality of life. Radiotherapy requires specialized equipment and techniques, and this treatment is not available in all regions.
